The top cap should be mounted with two plain bearings at the top of the profile. The purpose of the top cap is to hold the bearing in place and provide a round finish to the profile. It may sometimes be appropriate to attach the bearing in other ways to replace a broken top cap. The top cap is usually damaged due to the wrong angle of inclination or a defect in the Top Swivel.
