The spinnaker furlers are used with an anti-torsion line, which serves both as a link between the drum and the swivel and as a furling support for the sail. This anti-torsion must be adjusted to the correct length. The hardness and the positioning of the fibers of this rope do not allow the making of a splice and making it very difficult to sew. The clamp is then the simplest solution to implement.
